What are we doing to our Children 12 ?
Time to remove all restrictions from children. 4th February 2022
Time to remove all restrictions from children.
How can we justify the continued harm to children through continued restrictions, their education, psychological wellbeing and therefore their lives are being harmed?
And negative effects are evident from early days according to Dr Mark McDonald, a child psychologist and psychiatrist, he reports that there has been a significant drop in the IQ of babies -up to 20 points, with 5 year olds showing a drop of 24% in IQ.
Verbal and non verbal communication between parent and children and between child and teacher is incredibly important and this cannot be done behind a mask
Children who are at the start of the reading ladder will be delayed in their educational development, as those vital early reading steps are delayed or missed altogether. And children who have hovered around the boundaries of functional literacy will now never cross this vital barrier.
These are life changing impacts.
Dr Macdonald goes on to say,“ their social capacity to express feelings and emotions and their attention span has been affected by being isolated and masked. “I see children who cannot make eye contact, can’t sleep, wet the bed, can’t be away from their mother” and he adds,
“Children are being trained to be afraid. Parents have transferred their fears and anxieties onto their children” He cites mask mandates and school closures as the key factors.[1]
Professor Heneghan (professor of Evidence-based medicine at Oxford University) in his study entitled “Effects of Pandemic restrictions on Child Mental Health” reports:
“One third of all adolescents report problems with mental health and this continues into adulthood.”
He reiterates the warning of Dr McDonald, “we are putting the problem of our anxieties onto children when actually the problem is with the adults and older generation.”[2]
The UK government’s own ‘Evidence Summary'[3] found no statistically significant effect on transmission of the virus by wearing face covering.
The same Evidence Summary accepts the harm inflicted by face masks in class:
‘80 per cent of pupils reported that wearing a face covering made it difficult to communicate, and more than half (55 per cent) felt wearing one made learning more difficult’
‘94 per cent of teachers thought that wearing face coverings has made communication between teachers and students more difficult.
Wearing masks for prolonged periods of time has also been associated with a variety of harms, including reduced oxygen levels, raised C02 levels, headaches, lethargy, acne and impetigo. Damp masks encourage the growing of fungi and bacteria.
Despite the overwhelming evidence demonstrating the lack of risk to children from the virus and the ineffectiveness of masks and the clear evidence of harms caused by them, masks remain enforced in our schools.
Then there is the issue of the effects on learning due to absence because of the continual use of the flawed PCR test, which according to the CDC Director, Dr Rochelle Walensky “is not actually authorised for the purpose of evaluating contagiousness”[4]
So the test we are using to exclude children from school is not fit for the purpose for which it is being used!
About a million children in England - one out of every eight pupils - were off school on Thursday January 20th, with 47,000 teachers absent
The official figures also show staffing problems worsening, with a quarter of schools seeing teachers and leaders' absence rates above 15%.
It is reported that across England as a whole, about 9% of teachers were absent.[5]
In N. Ireland Just under 20% of pupils were not in school in the week from Monday 24 to Friday 28 January, and about one in every 30 pupils (3.5%) was self-isolating and learning from home so were not marked absent[6].
And this is despite the CMO in N.Ireland stating that schools are safe for children and staff “very few ,if any, children or teenagers will come to long term harm from Covid due solely to attending school”[7]
Why then are we testing children at all when they don’t get sick and they don’t transmit?
Remote learning is a poor substitute for face to face teaching according to the research, Holland, the European country best equipped to deliver remote learning reported a significant learning loss, up to 60% amongst the poorest, but a significant learning loss overall, with remote learning operating at 50% efficiency according to the study’s authors,Verhahl, Engzell and Frey[8]
A Public Health England study found schools themselves should not be a worry.
“They (the children) aren’t taking it home and then transferring it to the community. These kids have very little capacity to infect household members.”[9]
And studies from 12 European countries found “we have not found a single instance of a child infecting parents” And in Sweden which did not close schools nor insist that children wear masks, 1.8 million children attended school with zero deaths reported by Dr Scott Atlas[10]
In addition, children have a 99.9987% survival chance according to Professor Ioannidis, yet we continue to restrict their lives.[11]
Where is the attempt to balance the miniscule risk to children from covid with the clear damage to children due to government measures?
